Glad to have made my contribution to this important programme which raises very important and serious questions. Half hour documentary is just the start - there should be a comprehensive enquiry. Justice not yet delivered in full for so many low paid women.
Spanish policemen in Catalonia brutally attack Catalans in Barcelona. They are shooting up: 56 people injured by now. Thousands of Catalans say enough is enough over the brutal sentence of the #SpanishInquisition #HelpCatalonia #SpainIsAFascistState
This is what Spanish democracy looks like just now as paramilitary police shooting guns upwards & batons on non-violent protestors - You cannot imprison 6 million Catalans ‘la repressió no ens farà enrere! Ara, acabem el que vam començar. Guanyem la independència!’ 🎗💪🏼✊🏽
“Because the government said that it wouldn’t support a money resolution… The only way you can conceivably (have a second referendum) is to have a government of national unity” The SNP's Westminster leader @IanBlackfordMP adds “let's have an election first” #Newsnight
A @BBCDisclosure investigation has found thousands of women who fought Glasgow City Council for equal pay have had legal fees deducted from their compensation. This is despite assurances from their trade unions that they would keep 100% of any pay-out. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-49985113 …
This is outrageous. Did unions pay no-win, no-fee lawyer Stefan Cross for women workers THEY were meant to be representing out of the workers pay-out pot?
Football coach Pep Guardiola reads statement on behalf of Tsunami Democràtic protest group, calling on the international community to take a clear stance on the Catalan independence conflict Learn more: http://catalannews.com/society-science/item/turmoil-at-barcelona-airport-as-catalans-protest-leaders-prison-sentences …
This may not be a popular view amongst some of my followers, but whilst I appreciate that this is a matter for the Spanish courts & judiciary, I cannot see the sense in the Madrid Govt jailing Catalan leaders for an essentially political move.
🔴 @theSNP Conference unanimously passes @EFAparty-@YSINational joint emergency resolution on sentence against #CatalanPoliticalPrisoners ‼️ “The European Union must intervene now. We demand amnesty for prisoners and freedom for #Catalonia”, say @Valensercla @JJLindenSNP
.@EU_Commission on verdict Catalan separatists' trial: "No comment on national courts' decisions. Our position has not changed: this is and remains an internal matter for Spain. The EC fully respects Spanish Constitutional order, including decisions of the Spanish judiciary"
Not good enough. If we don’t apply values at the difficult times too they cease to be values. The EU should play a far more active role in mediation.
It's officially Climate Week 2019! Don't forget to use #Scotclimateweek to take part in the conversation!
Thank you to everyone who has taken part in #Scotclimateweek this year, helping to raise awareness about climate change across multiple sectors of Scottish society. The work doesn't end here however. We all need to work together to tackle the global climate emergency.
RC: "Earlier this year Nicola Sturgeon was brave enough and bold enough to declare – before any other government in the world - that there is a global climate emergency and that Scotland will play its part in tackling it." #SNP19
Spanish court gives nine Catalan politicians and activists long jail terms for roles in 2017 independence referendum https://bbc.in/2BcafdM
These politicians have been jailed for seeking to allow the people of Catalonia to peacefully choose their own future. Any political system that leads to such a dreadful outcome needs urgent change. My thoughts and solidarity are with all of them and their families.
